Where does my money go?

When you choose to make a donation to one of HRF's projects or appeals, you can do so in the safe knowledge that the money that you pledge will be used to help many people in need across the globe.

Examples of where your money will be used are:

1. To bring clean drinking water to a village in desperate need, preventing the risk of infection and the need to walks miles and miles every day just for a basic human right.

2. To help give a family a home again after the destruction of war has left them without shelter.

3. To provide the elderly with the care and attention that they deserve. With your help, we can help get them the medication and treatment that they need.

4. To help families less fortunate than ourselves still enjoy the religious festivals such as Eid and Ramadhan

success stories

HRF have managed to help thousands of people world wide, and could not have done it without the help and support of it's donors and volunteers, so thank you. Here are some 'success stories'.

1. Last year HRF distributed 175000 Kilograms of meat to the poor and needy families throughout the world which means that approximately 1200 families benefited and enjoyed the blessings of Eid

2. Our volunteers keep on running! One of them, Mr Ali, ran the London and Edinburgh Marathons. He raised over £5,000 for the orphans in Iraq and Kashmir.

3. Over the last 3 years we've spent over £1 million in the Muzaffarabad region of Kashmir. We're continuing to support communities in this area, and we're in it for the long term.

Please donate today, and help us create more sucess stories.

Displaced Families in Iraq

Seven years after the March 2003 US-led invasion, Iraq remains deeply divided. There are few prospects of durable solutions for the approximately 15 per cent of the population who are displaced inside and outside Iraq. It is thought that there are almost 2.8 million internally displaced people (IDPs), close to half of whom were displaced prior to 2003. Though Iraq is no longer in the grip of a humanitarian crisis, daily life for all Iraqis is precarious. Public health, electricity, water and sanitation services remain inadequate.

According to recent Iraqi government figures, there are about two million Iraqi refugees in neighbouring countries, mainly Syria and Jordan. Lack of funds and bureaucracy is undermining aid and assistance to these IDPs and returnees.

Although, 200 billion Iraqi dinars (US$169.5 million) is to be allocated in the currently proposed 2010 budget for the Displacement and Migration Ministry. The estimated fund required for IDPs and returnees is 500 billion Iraqi dinars ($424 million) according to Abdul-Khaliq Zankana, head of Iraqi parliament's committee on displacement and migration.

It appears that 'There is still not enough interest in this segment he said. An allocation of 100,000 Iraqi dinars ($80) was supposed to be paid monthly to each displaced family but in reality it is insufficient for most IDP families.

However, Human Relief Foundation's efforts require continuous support from US & YOU to help them with their
