Where does my money go?

When you choose to make a donation to one of HRF's projects or appeals, you can do so in the safe knowledge that the money that you pledge will be used to help many people in need across the globe.

Examples of where your money will be used are:

1. To bring clean drinking water to a village in desperate need, preventing the risk of infection and the need to walks miles and miles every day just for a basic human right.

2. To help give a family a home again after the destruction of war has left them without shelter.

3. To provide the elderly with the care and attention that they deserve. With your help, we can help get them the medication and treatment that they need.

4. To help families less fortunate than ourselves still enjoy the religious festivals such as Eid and Ramadhan

success stories

HRF have managed to help thousands of people world wide, and could not have done it without the help and support of it's donors and volunteers, so thank you. Here are some 'success stories'.

1. Last year HRF distributed 175000 Kilograms of meat to the poor and needy families throughout the world which means that approximately 1200 families benefited and enjoyed the blessings of Eid

2. Our volunteers keep on running! One of them, Mr Ali, ran the London and Edinburgh Marathons. He raised over £5,000 for the orphans in Iraq and Kashmir.

3. Over the last 3 years we've spent over £1 million in the Muzaffarabad region of Kashmir. We're continuing to support communities in this area, and we're in it for the long term.

Please donate today, and help us create more sucess stories.

Bangladesh Cyclone Appeal

Bangladesh is often hit by cyclones, but experts have reported that Cyclone Sidr was a category four storm, the most powerful so far in the season. Hundreds of thousands of families were in need of help, they required food, water, clothing and shelter. Before Cyclone Sidr struck, the people of Bangladesh were living under plastic sheeting, tarpaulin and other basic shelters. Statistics reveal that about 1.3 million people are still living in temporary shelters.

Three months since cyclone Sidr struck Bangladesh was faced with another crisis...food shortage. The cyclone along with the summer floods caused massive agricultural damage, nearly 2.6 million tonnes of agricultural produce was lost, which meant over 2 million acres of crops were damaged, and 1.23 million tonnes of rice was destroyed.

According to the Agricultural Ministry in Bangladesh, an estimated 60 million people live on less than a dollar a day and face severe hunger. The people of Bangladesh are finding it increasingly hard to afford even the most basic amounts of food to feed their families.

HRF was quick to respond to such a wide scale disaster by launching an emergency appeal. Food, temporary shelter, clothing and water were urgently needed for people who were displaced in the aftermath of the cyclone. Our appeal brought in aid and assistance from generous donors from all over the world. HRF used the funds collected by helping thousands of families to rebuild their lives. Along with other aid agencies, HRF was also involved in the planning for longer rehabilitation plans for the people of Bangladesh.

HRF will continue to support the people of Bangladesh with the help and support from its donors!
